The Ekiti State chapter of the Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC) has hailed the state governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, for his prudent management of the state resources and restoring peace in the state.
IPAC, which is an umbrella body of all registered political parties that participated in the 2015 general elections said in a release issued yesterday, and signed by its Chairman, Dr. Dele Ekunola and Secretary, Mr. Jimoh Saheed, that all residents of the state must join hands with Governor Fayose for the sustenance of the peace being enjoyed in the state.
The council, which also noted the prompt payment of compensation to shop owners and traders affected by the demolition of the Oja Oba Market, Ado-Ekiti, said the peaceful manner that the demolition was done was commendable.
While describing the economic situation of the country as worrisome, IPAC said it could only take prudent resources management by Governor Fayose for the state to have sustained payment of workers salary till now.
“We are happy that Ekiti is enjoying peace with adequate security of lives and properties.
“We are also happy that in spite of the economic recession, which the Federal government itself has admitted, Ekiti State government has been able to sustain payment of workers salary.
“Most importantly, the transparent manner in which the state is being managed by Governor Fayose is unprecedented and commendable.
“We therefore call on residents of the state, especially government workers to cooperate with the government in its efforts to sustain enduring developments and economic recovery of the state because it is obvious that the governor cannot do it alone,” IPAC said.
